Guidelines for Submitting Requests for Tracks within Programs to the Review Committee for Thoracic Surgery
When submitting a request for a track within a program to the Review Committee for Thoracic Surgery, the following information must be submitted in hard copy to Review Committee staff at the ACGME:
- a narrative statement describing the proposal, including the proposed date of implementation;
- the educational rationale and the goals and objectives for each track;
- a current block diagram and a proposed block diagram;
- a response to all citations identified during the last site visit;
- a letter of support from the designated institutional official (DIO); and,
- the current residents' operative statistics to support the request.
PLEASE NOTE: tracking requests are to be submitted only for those programs that wish to be so identified. This activity is NOT required for compliance with the new operative experience guidelines effective for graduates admitted July 1, 2007.
