ACGME honors outstanding program and institutional coordinators
Awardees will be recognized at Annual Educational Conference awards luncheon
CHICAGO, November 1, 2010 – The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education has chosen five program coordinators to receive the 2011 Graduate Medical Education Program Coordinator Excellence Award and one institutional coordinator to receive the 2011 GME Institutional Coordinator Excellence Award. The annual awards honor coordinators, who provide administrative support to residency programs and sponsoring institutions. The awardees were chosen from among numerous nominations submitted by program directors, designated institutional officials and residents. They were selected based on their excellent communication skills, knowledge of the accreditation process, and efforts to improve residency programs.

2011 GME Institutional Coordinator Excellence Award
- Pat Chapek , Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio
The awardees will each receive a check for $1,000 and a plaque, which will be presented to them at a luncheon held during the 2011 Annual Educational Conference, which will take place March 3-6 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Its mission is to improve the quality of health care in the United States by assessing and advancing the quality of resident physicians’ education.
