CHICAGO, May 14, 2010 – The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is accepting nominations for the 2011 David C. Leach, MD, Award. The annual award is given each year to five residents or resident teams. The award recognizes resident or resident team achievement in improving residency programs by, for example, fostering innovation, increasing efficiency, improving communication and collaboration, or advancing humanism in patient care and relations among health care professionals. |

CHICAGO, May 7, 2010 – In years to come, the public will demand a greater voice in how resident physicians are educated and physicians will focus even more on evidence-based medicine when treating patients with various health conditions, said Carolyn M. Clancy, MD, director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, during the keynote speech she gave March 6 at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s 2010 Annual Educational Conference. The meeting took place March 4-7 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. About 1,600 program directors, program coordinators, designated institutional officials and others involved in graduate medical education attended the event. |

Ten posters chosen for oral presentation at 2010 ACGME Annual Educational Conference |

CHICAGO, April 30, 2010 – Nearly 200 posters were submitted to the 2010 Marvin R. Dunn Poster Session, which was held March 5 during the 2010 ACGME Annual Educational Conference. The posters summarized projects focusing on innovations in transitions of care, teaching and assessing the general competencies, using the milestones to guide program improvement, and innovations in the learning environment. Of the 187 entries, 50 were chosen to be displayed during the poster session reception and 10 were chosen for oral presentation. The following posters were chosen for oral presentation: |
