The ACGME hopes that all accreditation site visits are collegial and educational experiences for programs and sponsoring institutions, and that the experience is helpful to program directors and designated institutional officials (DIOs).
Evaluation of the performance of an individual or a team conducting a site visit is important to improving the quality of the site visit and the accreditation process. After a program or sponsoring institution has had its accreditation site visit, the Department of Field Activities sends an electronic letter and attached web-based evaluation form to the program director or DIO, asking for an evaluation of the site visit.
Completion of the survey is an important way to contribute to improving the site visit process. The sole purpose of the brief evaluation survey is to seek “actionable” feedback on the performance of the site visitor(s). Aggregated feedback is shared with the site visitors, keeping the names of the programs, institutions and evaluators confidential. Responses are not shared with the Review Committees, nor are they used as part of the evaluation of a program or institution by the Committee.
The electronic letter requesting your evaluation of the site visit should be sent within seven-to-10 days of the date of the visit.
